During this week Riga will become a global meeting point for startups, investors, industry experts, media representatives, and more from all over the world.

Innovation can be a force of immense good, and everyone can agree that in the contemporary world science and technology are the key drivers that improve our lives by making them easier and better. As everyone has to think about the choices they include in their daily lives, leaders from different fields are eager to use everything that technology offers to make daily habits more sustainable. Speakers will talk about such issues like today's rapid change, how to build sustainable worlds and cities, sustainability as great customer experience, what will be the next wave in blockchain look like, how can we accelerate 5G opportunities and more.

On Wednesday with more than 20 side events such as different MasterClasses, Career Move by “Mintos” offering a job fair to meet startups and find out about open job opportunities, “Riga Venture Summit 2020”, and “FinTech Talks by Twino”, a panel discussion about future of fintech followed by networking, “TechChill” will take over the city by celebrating ideas, startups, innovations, technology, and hosting attendees eager to get inspired and meet like-minded people for the 9th year in a row.

The pivotal event of the startup week is “TechChill 2020”, the leading tech and startup conference happening in Riga and one of the most awaited events of the year in the Baltic startup ecosystem. The startup conference commences on Thursday with a welcoming speech from Egils Levits, the President of Latvia.

This year the two-day stage agenda will offer a program with more than 70 speakers including Martin Villig, Co-Founder and CEO at “Bolt”, Juhani Mykkänen, Co-founder and Head of Internal Development at “Wolt”, Ivana Gabravac, Head Of Brand and Reputation Marketing at “Google”, and more. The two-day conference agenda will offer speeches and discussions on the latest trends in technology, with a focus on ideas that have the potential to change the world and make it more sustainable. The content of “TechChill” will particularly focus on 5G technologies, Blockchain and Greentech. In addition, “TechChill” organizers have included topics such as Sales and Marketing and Founder stories that are important for the Baltic Sea region and beyond.

“We are excited as well as honored to welcome over 2000 attendees from all over the world to meet in Riga and talk about truly relevant topics today, as well as be the meeting place for startups and investors. This year we reached a record number of applicants for our startup pitch competition Fifty Founders Battle and see a lot of great ideas, the competition promises to be tough and exciting,” shares “TechChill 2020” COO Madara Ermansone.

“TechChill” will continue its tradition of showcasing 50 most promising startups from the Baltics, Scandinavia, and Central Europe by giving them a chance to step on the stage and pitch their ideas in front of conference's audience, international VC's, business angels, accelerators, media, and the official jury. This year all fifty startups will pitch their ideas in five following verticals - MedTech, GreenTech, FinTech, B2B, and B2C. During “TechChill” Day One, on February 20, the jury will evaluate all fifty startups by their 3-minute pitches on stage. On Day Two, before the closing of the conference, five finalists were chosen by the jury, one from each vertical, will pitch on the main stage and compete for the may prize of 10 000 euro and other prizes.
